FAQ

Q: What is Kilmarlic Golf Club and what facilities will be available for use at the Club?
A: Kilmarlic Golf Club is a new semi-private, non-equity club organized to provide golf and club house facilities and outstanding programs, activities and services for its members. The "Club Facilities," subject to obtaining all required governmental approvals and permits, will include the following:

  • Eighteen-hole golf course;
  • Golf practice facilities including a practice range, putting green and chipping green; and
  • A clubhouse consisting of dining facilities and lounge, a golf shop, administrative offices and patio/deck areas.

Q: Will golf starting times be reserved for the use by Club Members?
A: The Club shall reserve certain golf starting times for the exclusive use by the Members.

Q: Can members be assessed for operating deficits or capital improvements to the Club Facilities?
A: No. Club Members are not subject to any assessments for operating deficits incurred in the operation of the Club Facilities or for assessments in connection with capital improvements to the Club Facilities. The Club shall fund any operating deficits incurred in the operation of the Club Facilities and shall retain all operating surplus resulting from operation of the Club Facilities.

The payment of dues, use fees, charges, dining minimums, state taxes, service charges and other personal charges that the Club may establish from time to time is required to obtain and maintain membership privileges at Kilmarlic Golf Club and is not considered an operating assessment or capital assessment.

Q: Is any portion of the membership deposit refundable?
A: The Club shall repay to Club Members one hundred percent of the actual membership deposit previously paid to the Club for the membership (excluding any amounts credited to the member or waived by the Club at the time the Club Membership was obtained) as set forth in the member's Membership Agreement, without interest, thirty years from the date the member's Membership Agreement is executed by the Club.

Q: Can Cub Members be paid any portion of the membership deposit prior to the expiration of the thirty year period?
A: Upon the resignation of a Club Membership prior to the expiration of the thirty-year period, the resigned member may elect to be paid a Transfer Payment described below in lieu of receiving one hundred percent of the actual membership deposit previously paid upon expiration of the thirty-year period. If the resigned member elects this option, the Club shall pay to the resigned member the Transfer Payment within thirty days after the resigned membership is reissued by the Club to a successor member (excluding the transfer of a membership to a surviving spouse upon the death of a member or any transfer of a membership to a spouse upon the divorce of a member),who has been approved for membership and paid the required membership deposit in full to the Club.

The amount of the Transfer Payment to be paid by the Club to a resigned member upon the reissuance of a resigned Club Membership shall be equal to 80% of the actual membership deposit previously paid to the Club for the member's resigned membership.

Q: Will members of Kilmarlic Golf Club have an opportunity to provide input into the operation of the Club Facilities?
A: Yes. The Club will establish an Advisory Board. The purpose of the Advisory Board includes fostering good relations between the members and management of the Club Facilities and providing member input on programs and activities provided at Kilmarlic Golf Club. The Advisory Board will be composed of Club Members appointed by the Club.

Management of the Club Facilities shall meet with the Advisory Board and members are encouraged to utilize the Advisory Board by voicing their suggestions and concerns through the Advisory Board.

Q: Can the required membership deposit for Club Membership be paid in installments?
A: Yes, Club Members may pay the required membership deposit in installments.

Q: How does the membership application process work?
A: A prospective member desiring a Club Membership must deliver to the Membership Director at Kilmarlic Golf Club a fully completed and signed Application for Membership Privileges, the appropriate Membership Agreement and the required membership deposit.

The Club and/or its Membership Committee shall evaluate the Applications for Membership Privileges. The Club retains the right to accept or reject any all applications. All applications will be evaluated on the basis of their interest in Kilmarlic Golf Club, their financial responsibility, and their compatibility with other members at Kilmarlic Golf Club. However, in no event shall membership be denied on any basis in violation of applicable law.

An applicant satisfying the conditions of for membership will be notified in writing that the Application for Membership Privileges has been acted upon favorably. In the event an applicant has not satisfied the conditions for membership and the Application for Membership Privileges is not acted upon favorably, the applicant will be so notified in writing and the Club shall refund to the applicant the actual membership deposit previously paid to the Club, without interest, within ten days.
